As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 249 people, 102 households, and 73 families residing in the city. The population density was 839.5 people per square mile (320.5/km2). There were 113 housing units at an average density of 381.0 per square mile (145.4/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.98% White, 0.80% African American, 1.61% Native American, 0.80% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.01% of the population.
There were 102 households out of which 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.4% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.86.
In the city the population was spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
